Dogon Male and Female Figures - Mali
Both of these superb aged figures have a cracked brown and grayish/black encrusted patina and are carved standing on circular bases. Each has some damage: the female is missing a piece of her upward extended arm,  the male is missing the top of his staff. The knees are bent and arms elongated. The female has a prominent navel and protruding breasts and carries a baby on her back.
